A National Day of Commemoration: ANZAC day in Australia is the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the first World War. Australians come together on and spend time remembering the sacrifices of those who died in war protecting our country.
On Saturday May 8th, Manly Council is proud to present the Manly Fair Trade Market – a popular event for locals and visitors alike. A range of Fair Trade vendors are showcased along with entertainment, kids’ activities, Fair Trade coffee and chocolate and much more. The markets are something not to be missed!
Q Station Comedy Club is back! Come have a laugh with Gary Eck, writer of ‘Happy Feet 2′ and star of hit film Boytown! Other performances include Phil Cornwall direct from the UK and Sam McCool, the Chameleon Comedian. Cost: $30.
Northern Beaches based photographer Sally Mayman and painter Dale Kentwell have collaborated with people of the Dampier Peninsula exploring their connection to country. The exhibition to be held at Manly Council’s Art Gallery & Museum is supported by the Australian Geographic Society. Artists’ Floor Talk Sunday 30 May, 3pm.
The Taste of Manly! Come and join in the fun at one of Manly’s most famous festivals, proudly hosted by Manly Council. The Food, Wine and Sustainability Festival will showcase Manly’s landmark restaurants and a selection of wineries from across NSW. You can also learn about sustainable living by visiting exhibits covering a range of issues from organic food and wine to sustainable building.
Manly Council is proud to present a community based festival which highlights the diversity of arts practice in the Manly region. The two week program includes a wide variety of exciting presentations from visual art, music, theatre and dance performances, literary events and youth workshops.
Australia’s largest community based Jazz Festival will be taking place over the October long weekend. The festival is presented by Manly Council and features over 70 free performances on five outdoor stages from noon until sundown. Meanwhile, in the evening, there is a range of indoor ticketed concerts to choose from. This festival continues to attract the finest Jazz performers both nationally and internationally.

Unique handmade arts and crafts are a highlight with many works inspired by the local landscape, culture and lifestyle. Jewellery, paintings, photography, sculptures, homemade body care products and souvenirs can all be found here.
