100 Years of Surfing in Manly

Manly Council is pleased to present 100 Years of Surfing in Manly, presenting a historic mute-media display recounting the evolution of surfing in Australia. From the great surfer Duke Kahanomku’s historic visit a century ago, right up to the 2015 Australian Open of Surfing held right here in Manly.

Manly Fair Trade Markets

fairtrade2Taking place twice a year, on Mothers day and before Xmas. Manly Council is proud to present the Manly Fair Trade Market – a popular event for locals and visitors alike. A range of Fair Trade vendors are showcased along with entertainment, kids’ activities, Fair Trade coffee and chocolate and much more. The markets are something not to be missed!

Taste of Manly – Food, Wine and Sustainability Festival

Taste of Manly showcases Manly’s landmark restaurants and a selection of wineries. You can also learn about sustainable living by visiting exhibits covering a range of issues from organic food and wine to sustainable building.

CJ ‘SNOWY’ McAlister Winter Surfing Festival

The CJ ‘Snowy’ McAlister festival is returning to Manly Beach, in june. Now in its 28th year, the annual three day surfing festival will see some of the best mens, womens, and juniors longboarders. There will also be a fun tandem surfing event with heats and finals. There are sizeable prize pool up for grabs plus there will be plenty of off-beach fun throughout the contest.

Manly Arts Festival

Now in it’s 22nd year, the Manly Arts festival has been running since 1994. Manly Council and Manly Art Gallery & Museum proudly to present a community based festival which highlights the diversity of arts practice in the Manly region. The two week program includes a wide variety of exciting presentations from visual art, music, theatre and dance performances, literary events and youth workshops. Come and enjoy the creative and entertaining program of events.

Manly Jazz

The 38th Manly Jazz festival is a celebration of Australia’s beach culture, Good food, Good times, and the wonderful Manly Vibes. Australia’s largest community based Jazz Festival takes place over the October long weekend. Presented by Manly Council, the festival features over 70 free performances on four outdoor stages from noon until sundown. The music continues into the evening with a choice of ticketed concerts at local venues. Manly Jazz attracts the finest Jazz performers both nationally and internationally.
